I am a licensed psychologist whose primary clinical focus is conducting comprehensive neurocognitive evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental and/or psychiatric conditions that affect learning and behavior. I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center, where I conduct clinical research with children and adults with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, OCD, depression and genetic disorders, and I supervise students and junior clinicians in neuropsychological and diagnostic evaluations. I have authored over 10 articles in peer-referred journals, and written four book chapters on topics relating to neuropsychological predicators of treatment response, autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety and compulsivity.
I earned my doctorate in psychology, with a specialization in neuropsychology, from The Graduate and University Center of the City of New York. I completed my internship training at the Neuropsychology Service at the Icahn School of Medicine/Mount Sinai Hospital, where I conducted neuropsychological evaluations for children and adults with various learning and psychiatric disorders. I served my postdoctoral fellowship at the Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment, also at the Icahn School of Medicine/Mount Sinai Hospital, where I performed comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and conducted research for children and young adults with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. I also provided training seminars to staff at several non-profit agencies, and developed and facilitated social skills groups at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. I am trained and “research reliable” in administering the gold-standard autism diagnostic assessments- the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale-2 (ADOS-2).
I strongly believe that a neuropsychological assessment is not only about establishing a diagnosis, but also about helping parents to understand how symptoms and behaviors affect day-to-day life, and how a child can use his/her strengths to compensate for weaknesses in order to maximize learning and life experiences. As such, I provide comprehensive and action-oriented reports that include detailed, individualized recommendations designed to help educators, families and providers understand your child’s unique cognitive, academic and social-emotional profile to help him/her overcome obstacles and facilitate success, both inside and outside of school.
